My New Fertility Recipe...lets see if it works.
Hi my name is Becky, I'm 29 and I have been TTC for what seems like forever! When I was in my early 20s I accidentally got BFP with an ex boyfriend. Unfortunately I had a miscarriage at 9 1/2 weeks. I accepted the loss because I've always felt that things happen for reasons. Since then I got married & divorced. While married my ex husband and I TTC for 18 months. After a year of trying we went to a fertility specialist and were diagnosed with "unexplained infertility." My ex husband's sperm wasn't the greatest though (high count, high mobility but very poor shape). It was considered below average. I underwent 3 rounds of clomid with trying naturally and then 3 months of IUI with no success. With all of the ups and downs of TTC my ex and I fell apart and last year we decided to part ways.
Since then I met my soul mate. I didn't know that a person could exist that is absolutely perfect for me in every way. We have been together for less than a year but have already moved in together and recently decided to start TTC. He (like me) had an unplanned pregnancy when he was very young and the girl's parents forced her to have an abortion. I know this has taken a huge toll on him over the years. Like me he is still recovering from a loss that was not in his control.
On a happier note. We started TTC in June 2011. Two failed cycles as a couple and 20 failed cycles for me. I was really hoping that I would get BFP the first month but it hasn't happened.
So this month I'm taking matters into my own hands! I'm not waiting around for Mother Nature to work her magic on her own.
So here is what I'm doing this month and I hope it works.
I found the following "Fertility Recipe" online:
http://womens-place.com/ttc/vitex.php
It uses Vitamin B and Vitex. I modified the recipe a little because I used Vitex before for 3 cycles and it didn't help me so I'm trying soy isoflavone this month instead. I'm also toying with the idea of PreSeed.
Here is what I'm doing:
Daily Dose for whole cycle:
AM- Prenatal Vitamins
AM- 800 mg Folic Acid
AM- 50 mg Vitamin B6 (AM)
AM- Royal Jelly Bee Pollen liquid
PM- 1 baby aspirin
PM- B-50 Complex (PM)
Anytime during the day- Raspberry Tea Leaf (drink 1 cup of tea)
From end of AF until Ovulation:
Robitussin cough syrup (1 serving in evening before bed)
AM & PM- Evening Promise Oil softgels (2 softgels 2X day)
From cycle Day 5-9- 100mg Soy Isoflavone
(I would have liked to start 3-7 but didn't complete my research in time. If it doesn't work this month will try CD 3-7 next month):
I have a regular cycle- 27-28 days. I almost always ovulate on CD 14. I'm also doing the digital OPKs along with the concoction above.
I also gave up Caffeine cold turkey on CD 5. I was down to a cup of coffee in the morning and then read an article on a study that showed infertility in women that drink ICaffeine. It slows down movement in the fallopian tubes. I want a baby more than anything in the world...so giving up my cup of joe is hard but I know the end result is totally worth it!! :)
I'll keep you all updated with my progress. :)

CD 4- started taking everything except the soy isoflavone. I noticed a slight headache but that could be from giving up Caffeine cold turkey.
CD 5- took Soy Isoflavone (100mg) before bed. I had to get up and pee 2 hours after I went to bed but I think that's because I had to drink a glass of water trying to get all of my horse pills down. :)
CD 6- noticed I was very tired in the afternoon and evening. Not sure if any of the vitamins/fertility aids are making me tired or if its from no Caffeine. No other symptoms to note.

Today is CD 11 and starting to notice more CM. I think the EPO is starting to work. :)
I think I also will try Instead Softcups this cycle as well.
I'm really hoping this recipe works! I really don't want to have to take all of the horse pills for another cycle. Yuck! The Soy tablets are huge and hard to swollow. Glad that part is only 5 days and over. :)
The BF went out and bought a "healthy pack" of mens vitamins. He's now taking: 400IU Vitamin E, 60mg Vitamin C, 79mcg Selenium and 60mg Zinc...along with a number of other vitamins. I read that the Vitamin E, C, Selenium and Zinc are the most important for Mens fertility. :)
I'm still very hopeful this cycle!! Keeping my fingers crossed. :)

CD 12- positive digital OPK in the afternoon (4:00pm). I have never ovulated this early before. I normally ovulate on day 14 or 15 but 2 days early? Hummmmm. I think the herbs and vitamins are definitely doing something to my body. I also noticed during BDing that my cervix is extremely tender right now. This is quite abnormal for me as well.
CD 13- BDed this morning before work because DB is a fire fighter and leaves for a 24 hour shift.
We BDed on CD 8, 9, 11, 12 and morning of 13. Will again tomorrow (CD14).
Used 3g of PreSeed (internally) on CD 12 and CD 13.
Now the TWW starts!!

Well its CD18 and/or 6 DPO today. Over the weekend I really didn't feel many symptoms. I was very tired and took naps on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Saturday and Sunday evening I was pretty sleepless and woke up around 1:30am and couldn't fall back asleep for over an hour (but that could be because I took lengthy naps?). Ick! Besides that I'm feeling gassy but I attribute it to poor weekend diet. I do have a small dull pull/twinge pain on my right side. I know I ovulated from my right ovary this month b/c my ovulation pains were very strong this month. I'm hoping it means implantation!
I'm still 100% off the caffeine!
So my symptoms so far:
Gassy
Tired
Sleeplessness
Pull/twinge on right side of abdomen
I'm still feeling very positive this month! Going to try not to take a pregnancy test until 12DPO...but I'm sure I'll cave at 10DPO. LOL. :)

Today is CD 20 or 8DPO.
I really don't have any symptoms to report. My breasts feel achy at times. I wouldn't say they are sore to the touch but more of a dull ache. I think this is normal for me this time of the month. I'm technically a week away from AF and my bbs can sometimes get sore before AF.
I am less gassy today...not sure if this is a good or bad sign. I'm usually not a gassy person but the past week I have been tooting around the clock (TMI). :)
Other than that...nothing to report. Still taking my B6, B complex, Royal Jelly Bee, Folic Acid, Baby Aspirin and prenatals.
I'm hoping the lack of symptoms could be a good sign for me b/c normally I'm feeling a lot of twinges and uterus activity (cramping, pulling, twinging etc.)
I hope some are finding this interesting. :)
