I'm 8 or 9 dpo and have been having the wildest dreams (starring the strangest characters from my past) and so far, NO SPOTTING. I'm very excited about this b/c that had become par for the course for me for the last several cycles. I would have early spotting, a day off, then a short period. My LP has never been longer than 10 days by my calculations so ... I might poas Monday morning, after my last progesterone dose. What do you ladies think?

Well - maybe nevermind. Some brown spotting with a very small reddish thread-like "clot" when I wiped today.

I feel foolish to this this could be implantation, though for the first time at least the timing would be right. (I've often hoped my 4-6dpo spotting was IB.)

Sigh.

No it didnt stop. Now its a full on bleed. I called my doctors office and my doctor is out til monday but I talked to a doctor and then a nurse called me the day after and both told me not to count this as AF. Just wait and see what my body does next. If I get my period as I expected on the 23rd of this month then it was either a cyst or my lining is too thick and just sheddin more. So we will see

I was right to be pessimistic. Full-on AF by afternoon.

Ssurra, hugs! Are you taking progesterone supplements? It seems that you have a luteal phase defect, and until that is helped, it'll be really hard for an egg to implant.

lisserb - Yes, I am, days 12-24 (though I skipped my last one last night because why bother being blurry eyed if I'm not pregnant).

From what I understand it's the clomid that's supposed to help this by getting me to ovulate sooner; however, that hasn't happened yet. I've been on 50mg. I'm going to ask to be bumped to 100 for this 3rd cycle.

I mentioned to my doc the first time I visited that i noticed this short LP, but she didn't care.

Are you with an actual RE? Maybe see if they can ultrasound monitor you and then give you an hcg trigger to ovulate and then hcg boosters to increase your natural progesterone instead of prog supplements.

No, my ob/gyn wanted to try clomid + progesterone for 3 cycles before referring me to a specialist. I've had zero monitoring. I also had the option of an IUI but decided not to. At this point it's obvious to me that wouldn't do anything anyway.

First they turned me away b/c I'd been trying for only 11 months. Then I saw a new doc at the same practice the following month. She's somewhat better. Had hsg, blood tests, ultrasound, husband was tested too. So they think nothing is wrong with me and I should just take clomid and get pregnant, I think.

2nd fertility yoga class tonight. I'll be interested to hear what she says.

Hope everyone is having a great Sunday! (Father's Day)

TMI Alert: I woke up this morning around 3:00 am with a really bad stomach pain. I went to pee, then I went back to bed. Around 7:30 am, I woke up and I felt 'wet' in my underwear! So I went to the bathroom peed & wiped & low & behold - BLOOD!!! AF isn't due until the 21st! I do have to admit though that I stopped taking my Progesterone 2 days before I should because I could not deal with the side effects. Not only were my eye-sight blurred, I started seeing flecks of light as well, that scared me alot! I was also experiencing serious mood swings, but mostly I was feeling very depressed & even started having thoughts of suicide! Hubby even noticed something was not right. I had no idea Progesterone could do that to someone! I will call my doctor's office in the morning to ask them what I should do.

I am so confused as to what is going on with my body! Is this a miscarriage? Is AF just super early? Did I mess up by stopping the Progesterone? Did my fall have something to do with this? Sighs...

MrsK, a drop in progesterone levels are what signal the body to start menstruation. So, since you stopped your progesterone, you had a level drop. So I think it's early AF. Two days sounds about right, too. When I stop progesterone, AF usually comes about 48 hours later. And wow, what crazy side effects! Definitely ask your doctor is there is some other medication you can take.
