New Year's Kick Off!

In order to keep myself sane during my TWW (12/21-01/04) I'm starting this list for ladies who will be testing or starting a new cycle in the new year!

Let me start off by confessing that I am a POAS addict and my name is Lyn. I live in Italy and my husband is in the military so our TTC months can be quite varied... So far over the last yer we've only really had 4 good chances since he was gone. I'm really hoping that this is my cycle but if not we'll keep trying right up until DH gets on the plane to deploy!

We're TTC #2 after a MC in October of 2010 and I'm now 25 years old... I have PCOS and weight issues.

Let's spread the !

Hoping for my Janury 4th!! (But I know I'll be testing on the 1st)

Here's to keeping AF away!!

I LOVE hearing other peoples dreams!

I had a dream a while back that I spent a day in labour while DH spent the day watching sport on TV. I pushed out a boy that was over 10pound and rather than spend bonding time with us, DH was ringing up his friends telling him we had a rugby player!!
Thing is, when I told DH this dream, he said he hopes it's a premonition... I told him that if he wants a rugby player then he can push out the baby.

over TEN POUND!!! *cringes and covers her vjj*

I spent 30hrs in labour with DD so 24 should be a cinch but I had a emergency c sec with her, not sure how i'd go with pushing out a big, big baby. :/
Anyone else (first timers??) scared of the birthing bit?

I think I'm scared of the pregnancy bit just as much. My pregnancy with my daughter was HORRID to say the least.

I think it was mommybandy that asked for my story, so I'll give it a whirl without dragging on too much, it's a little long winded..just skip it if it's not your thing.

We were told we couldn't have kids, 6 weeks before she was conceived. After a holiday with family DH had to spend two weeks away at work. A week later I told a friend about some pain I was having, she rushed me to hospital thinking I had kidney stones or appendicitis.

11 hours later I'm finally in a ward!

Urine, bloods, an ultrasound and CT scan found nothing. I hadn't had AF for over 7 months at this stage so I even had to sign a letter to say I was NOT pregnant before I got the CT scan (dangerous to first trimester bubs). I had had bloods done that morning which confirmed I was not pregnant (they thought possible eptopic pregnancy) so I signed it.

I was almost 6 weeks pregnant.

They decided that, although they could see nothing, my pain was that extreme that they would take my appendix out just to be sure. They cancelled my surgery three times. By the time the final date was confirmed, I hadn't eaten in over 32 hours and I had a 22minute window to eat something before fasting for surgery again. My best mate raided the nurses kitchen

Surgery goes fine, but I wake up a battered mess. My stomach is bruised and tender and I can tell that the doctor has taken zero care with the surgery. Over the next two days I watch my stomach grow to that of a heavily pregnant woman. I'm in so much pain I can barely walk. I'm given an enema (sorry TMI) and sent home.

Days later, DH is home. He looks after me for three days when the pains come back with a vengeance. I refuse to go to hospital so make an app with my GP. He tells me to go to hospital and I say no. I'd rather die than go back to hospital. He says 'it's possible you could die if you don't go. You have an infection from the operation.' I'm thinking ... *looks for an emoticon symbolizing me throwing dog turds at the surgeon. No such luck*

So we head into the city to a different hospital. I'm told to pee in a cup and then hundreds of vials of blood are taken from me (okay, so slight exaggeration, but you know what they're like) and then I'm promised morphine/pain relief soon. I'm left in agony and separated from DH (they forgot to let him in! Again, where is the poo throwing emo?) when one of the doctors come in to see me. This is where it gets strange....

I know it's one of the top doctors as he's in green (the trainees are in blue). There's an old lady in the bed next to mine who's fast asleep. They wheel her out!!! Completely out of the room and I'm thinking WTF??? He sits down, looks at me seriously and then talks medical jargon I don't understand. Okay, truth be told, when they send in a top doc, push my roommate out and take a seat with a concerning look on their face....I'm thinking "He's about to tell me I'm dying" so I'm not really listening to what he's saying, coz all I'm waiting to hear is the word 'dying'...it doesn't come....

Me: What?
Doc: You're pregnant
Me: :silence: Hand goes to my mouth and almost fits in it. I promptly shut it, but it falls open again.

Suddenly my room is a flurry. Nurses, doctors, some kind of wheely machine.... Then I'm getting all these "congratulations" and then someone says "What's your husband think?"

Having being reminded that I have a husband, I ask them to let him in. I don't even get to tell him! They are all congratulating him and then they squirt jelly on my belly and start a scan. NONE of them know what they're looking for!! THEN the big BIG TOP doc comes in....he takes over...he sees something but he's not sure. Minutes later I'm shoved in an ambulance and told I'm possibly miscarrying or eptopic....my husband has had barely 5 minutes to get used to becoming a father before he's following my ambulance to the mum and bubs hospital.

Bloods are done and show I'm approx 5 weeks. They do an internal scan. Baby is exactly 7 weeks old, sitting nicely with a very strong heartbeat.

Oh, and the doctors from the general hospital ring to tell the gyno that they did do a scan, but they couldn't find bones so they thought maybe there was no baby in there.....

Yes, I seriously considered delivering my baby out in some bush paddock standing up like we did in the old days, coz I did come to the conclusion that medical science may have evolved, but not the people specialising in it.

But, pregnancy was a bumpy road the whole way. SPD(symphasis pubis dysfunction), GDM (gestational diabetes), preterm labour at 32 weeks (they managed to keep her in there. After some very painful bum jabs) and after that, an irritable uterus. Just doing the dishes could send me in labour. It all got very tiring so they induced me at 38ish weeks and I endured 30hrs of labour before finally holding her.

It was all VERY worth it.

There you have it my birth story. Hope I didn't bore you all too much

Happy Third Day of the New Year dear 2ww buddies!

Btrflyluv: I also have a lot of creamy whitish discharge, after this cycle ends unsuccessfully I would consider it also a mild yest infection (never had one, so I am not sure). The cycle when I had chemical I also had plenty of white discharge...time will tell...

knicole27: it's a hilarous dream...I had very vivid dream this morning but it was a gross dream. I am in the hospital, in the hospital gown, I cannot move, the nurse brought me and put me on examination table covered by white sheet. She left and I started feeling something sticky, and it was blood. They put fresh cleen sheet right over the pad soaked with somebodys blood. I was terrified, I tried to yell for help, and couldn't. Finally, I was able to scream, and that's how I awaked (I screamed for real) and dh was so scarried, and I was sweating...I don't want any dreams like that...

OMG Chazzy!!!!!! wow... but also loved the way you told the story! had some great humor in it lol! but uhhh yeah.. I can see why you would not be too trusting of medical professionals. I know that I am not too trusting myself honestly for other reasons. I hope that I have a normal pregnancy so I can have a midwife BUT... we will see. I watched "The Business of Being Born" on netflix. Excellent documentary. Made me really think about what kind of birthing plan I wanted.

Esperanza- ugh what an awful dream! I hate that!!

This morning I had a dream about egg white cervical mucus! lol.. idk!!

10dpo today CD 24 of a 28/29 ish day cycle :D getting closer eventhough.. I really don't have symptoms.. oh well. fx!

Hi Ladies

I remember some of you from the December Nice List ...well, things didn't pan out so well for me. I got a (faint) BFP on Dec 20 and another faint on Dec 21. Then, I started miscarrying on Dec 30. So, I'm back to square one and will be trying again soon.

Hoping for a STICKING bean in 2012!!

kaylee- fx for you! I hope this is your cycle and pray that af stays away!!!

hey anyone take progesterone cream here??? I am starting to have some mild cramping today at 10dpo.. wondering how common this is. This cycle for me has been so confusing as I used Soy Isoflavones and then the progesterone cream for the first time so first i had a hard time pinpointing when O actually was and now symptoms i am having I am attributing to the cream.... but yes def. cramping today. I usually do not get cramping this early before AF... so.. idk. So confused this cycle.

Whew, so much going on that I can't keep up!! Good luck ladies and congrats to the !!! Dh and I have decided to take a break adnt hink about maybe waiting until after he gets back and of course I can' thelp but think IF he comes back... I just don't know how I'd feel if I didn't try everything I could to have another piece of him with me. I"m going to take a break for a few days at least. Ironically I got my OPK's in the amil today... 40 of them. Being the POAS addict that I am I'm not sure if I'll make it a whole cycle without at least POAS when I'm supposed to O... Hehehe. Good luck ladies and

mommybandy I hope he changes his mind and lets the BDing continue. Maybe 'taking a break' is just what you need though....or more not trying but not preventing. They say it happens when you're not thinking about it. Maybe a romantic weekend away is in order? Are you able to get away some time before he deploys? ALL of my friends have conceived while on holiday at least once

Knicole, since I've been making a note of suspected O each month, I have noticed that a week after O I get really tired and nap during the day. IF (and I hope it isn't so) you get a BFN and the napping continues I'd have a chat to your doctor. Lethargy can be a sign of many other ailments. I'm wishing time to go faster for you so you can get y our BFP xx

And thanks for the comment on my story. It was about midnight when I wrote it and I've got a bit of insomnia at the mo, so I'm just a tad crazy. Also, I write supernatural/fantasy short stories as a hobby and I always try to turn everything into a story, as you've probably noticed from my long winded posts

Kaylee FX for you

Destiny so sorry to hear about your loss. Hopefully your prog levels stay high to help the next one stick xx

Esperanza that sounds like a HORRIBLE dream! Creamy white discharge is a very positive sign! I had heaps with my last pregnancy.

So I'm a little addicted to the latest song by David Guetta featuring Sia (whom I adore), has anyone heard it? Do you ever just love one song so much that you never tire of it and play it over and over. Then months later you can't stand to hear it and you realize you ruined it for yourself? LOL I seem to do that all the time. Another one I'm loving is Christina Perri's new song. Oh! And Florence and the Machine's latest.
