The Wannabe Mamas!

I am starting this thread for a group of ladies that already frequently communicate through journals and PMs. Since we already stalk one another's journals and countdown pages... I thought it might be nice for us to have a discussion forum, where we can frequently communicate our day to day ups and downs. Please re-introduce yourself and give us a summary of your journey to date!

My story:
DH and I have been TTC #1 since June 2012. In October, we found out that DH has a varicocele causing poor morphology (1-2%). This makes it difficult for us to conceive on our own. We are on some looong wait lists to see specialists. We need to see a urologist about possible surgery and a fertility specialist about possible IUI or IVF. Right now we are loking at 8-10 month wait times, but we might be able to get DH into a urologist much sooner if we can get into a clinic in the next province over. We are currently working toward making that happen! The surgery has about 50/50 odds of working. But we are hoping it works for us!

hi ladies,
I've been feeling really defeated lately, started spotting today and really shouldn't at least til friday :( so I'm afraid this miscarriage may have gave me an even shorter lp... I'm not sure I can keep putting myself through this pain anymore... how do we keep going with the possibility of having to be hurt all over again??

Great to hear about the regular panties!!! I know what you mean about wearing a diaper.... although I found awesome pads that I love so not so bad anymore :)

good luck ladies

Ladies a totally unrelated ttc question. I know some of you are teachers so I want your opinion. My kids as most of you know are not my biological kids and I've know them since they were 3 going on 4. They have had a hard life dealing with their loser addict birth mother and seem to have some behavioral/emotional issues when would be the time to seek a child psychologist? They are twins my girl is certainly more dominant but she's TOO overbearing on her brother and to me crosses the line. I caught her one saying if we kiss it will be our first kiss. I freaked out and explained you never act that way with your brother but she always seems inappropriate that way. She always wants to walk around naked and they were playing with the recorder on their table and she was lifting up her shirt dancing goofy. She was held back in 1st grade and she wants to be so grown up with boyfriends and babies but then in a contradiction she takes way younger than her age. She's said to many people including me that food makes her feel happy and she definitely overeats. Like she is never EVER satisfied and even was sneaking food out of the babysitters fridge after she was told no. I can never sit my boy or do anything alone with him because she is always right there to get inbetween him and whoever. If he's sitting with a grandma she just walk over and tell him to move it was her spot. I know it sound extreme exaclty but actually in person it's really getting bad. She doesn't listen to a single thing I tell her to do in fact she'll do the complete opposite. By the way to them I am their mother the other is nonexistent in their life. They seem to have learning problems and have no interest in school :( There are other things mostly its my daughter but my son seems to have some issues sometimes certainly not like her. In your opinions when is it time for me to see about having her see a professional?? Oh theres this too she does it in my house and babysitters houses where she'll move their furniture around and rugs around. So seriously is it time for me to get some help??? It's getting to the point where I really can't control her and just constantly yell. I think I may have her evaluated for ADD to. She just can't sit still even during a show. She'll just get up and walk away and anytime something becomes a challenge she's done with it won't have anything to do. Really really LAZY won't play outside or do any activities. I know this is really long and I apologize I just know many of you are teachers and deal with children a lot also some of you are mothers as well.....Thanks for any advice :)

Hey Michelle....I would make an appointment with her pediatrician and tell him/her everything you just mentioned....even go with a bulleted list so you have it written down as to not forget anything, or even make the list from most concerning to least concerning.

I have a student, who is a girl and a twin. Very overbearing on her brother....plays the Mom to him a lot. He is also more quiet and has some learning setbacks....so she picks up on it and compensates for him. She talks for him, disciplines him.....not sure what Mom does at home for this, but in school the pair cannot be in the same class for these reasons. I wanted to tell you this because the dominating personality is normal with a set of opposite sex twins...espcially if one is more spirited than the other.

The nakedness, kissing, overeating, moving furniture....sounds like she has a lot of energy and mixed signals. Is she acting out because of her bio mother? Does she see bio mom do these things? Is she doing them to get negative attention? I think its time to definitely intervene and get tough with her. Taking away priviledges for starters. Modeling the behavior you want too is key. Explaining to her what is appropriate....and often....is also key. Zero tolerance for inappropriate and bad behavior.

Let me know what you decide to do!

She is like that too wants to be his mother. She's even said to me that when I have my baby how she's going to feed it, bath it, change diapers. I have to be hard with her and tell her no I'm the mom not you those are all my jobs. She just takes it all to new level. In school I definitely had to separate them!! Even still she gets to HIS teachers and he's in 2nd grade while she's still in 1st!! Drives me crazy I just don't know what to do about her :( I'm trying to think of exact samples of her behavior lol Their bio mother has had no contact with them in years even at first she was in and out with her drugs. She was in jail for a month so of course my hubbt got them but she never came to get them just let him keep them. Now we court orders no custody or visitation until she completes a rehab program. She hasn't even spoke to them on the phone for well over a year. I do think there is pent up emotions surrounding her :( and confusion. You know the whys....why doesn't she call, why doesn't she come get me, what did I do wrong :( I think it's easier that I am here but still I think theres some deep issues about her leaving. I just think I need to get them especially her to a professional before its too late and there severe issues

HI girls, First off, how is everyone? Michelle I am so sorry for what you are having to go through, I wish I could be better at giving advice, there are girls here way more qualified than me to give advice but know that you will know what to do to help fix the problem before it gets worse. You obviously care which is more than I can say for a lot of people who would ignore the problem. (hugs!)
I am 10 dpo today and I "think" i got a faint positive on frer, now all the thoughts are starting to hit me, what if its another chemical? I have had 3 and this one could be the 4th. Someone mentioned going in and getting my progesterone levels checked out, i have been on progesterone cream, so should I even call? I will be embarrassed if I really am not pregnant or its way to early to tell and they will scold me for ttc this month. Any advice? should I call today to set up an appointment as soon as possible? or wait til tomorrow to see if its a true positive? Its still 50/50 right now....

Welcome Katie!

Very sorry for your loss. I also had a blighted ovum with a D&C back in 2007, so I know what you're going through for sure. I didn't know how common they were until coming on to this site. Wish I had something like this back then!

@ BRITT I hope you've got your BFP as for advice about calling an progesterone testing.... I would test in the morning & at BFP call Dr to ask to get a prescription for progesterone (suppositories I've heard work best) and see if he will do an hcg quantitive test tomorrow then 48 hrs later plus the progesterone levels!
