The Wannabe Mamas!

I am starting this thread for a group of ladies that already frequently communicate through journals and PMs. Since we already stalk one another's journals and countdown pages... I thought it might be nice for us to have a discussion forum, where we can frequently communicate our day to day ups and downs. Please re-introduce yourself and give us a summary of your journey to date!

My story:
DH and I have been TTC #1 since June 2012. In October, we found out that DH has a varicocele causing poor morphology (1-2%). This makes it difficult for us to conceive on our own. We are on some looong wait lists to see specialists. We need to see a urologist about possible surgery and a fertility specialist about possible IUI or IVF. Right now we are loking at 8-10 month wait times, but we might be able to get DH into a urologist much sooner if we can get into a clinic in the next province over. We are currently working toward making that happen! The surgery has about 50/50 odds of working. But we are hoping it works for us!

Lisa!

You really deserve to have your moment after living in the shadows of all the pregnant ladies around you at work. Plus you deserve it anyways! LOL. I know the last year has been tough....and you've really put the effort in to therapy, yoga, etc. I really hope this is it for you. Seems this board has some good luck , so I'm sure you'll be okay.

Keep us posted. And glad you enjoyed my recommended eBay tests....they freakin rock!

Looking forward to seeing the next BFP on here!! Congrats!! the shots will help so very much with factor v

Not to be a downer but I'm really struggling lately with trying to know what is right for me... the dr I met with said that I don't need any testing even though I've had the stillbirth & 3 miscarriages totaling a loss of 6 babies in 11 months..... He said it's just bad luck & to keep trying

According - that is terrible advice!! Can you find another doctor who will test you? A friend of mine's doctor said the same thing, so she found a reproductive endocrinologist and was tested after only 2 miscarriages. She is very similar to me... blood clotting disorder (I think hers is a genetic mutation) and low progesterone. I would suggest finding someone who will run the tests you need run. I hope that you find the answers you need soon... I know the answers will make you feel better! Sending you hugs!

According.....in my opinion, anything over two miscarriages is NOT just bad luck. After a later loss even would have me clawing to get answers. You have been through so much and too much for doctors not to care about you!!!!!! Please find someone who will take the time to get to know your situation and start getting some testing done. Even though I never had progesterone tests done to prove that was what the problem was, I KNEW that there was something wrong after 3 early losses so I took action, did the progesterone cream then demanded the progesterone pill once I fell pregnant. There could be many things causing your losses though and I think you have the right to second third and fourth opinions. I am so sorry for your struggles hon, my heart is very heavy for you. We all think about you (hug!)
