The Wannabe Mamas!

I am starting this thread for a group of ladies that already frequently communicate through journals and PMs. Since we already stalk one another's journals and countdown pages... I thought it might be nice for us to have a discussion forum, where we can frequently communicate our day to day ups and downs. Please re-introduce yourself and give us a summary of your journey to date!

My story:
DH and I have been TTC #1 since June 2012. In October, we found out that DH has a varicocele causing poor morphology (1-2%). This makes it difficult for us to conceive on our own. We are on some looong wait lists to see specialists. We need to see a urologist about possible surgery and a fertility specialist about possible IUI or IVF. Right now we are loking at 8-10 month wait times, but we might be able to get DH into a urologist much sooner if we can get into a clinic in the next province over. We are currently working toward making that happen! The surgery has about 50/50 odds of working. But we are hoping it works for us!

Just got word... January 15 for our initial consult with the urologist in BC!

We were told 2 months and we don't even have to wait 1 month!

Alberta can take their 10 month wait and shove it you know where, because we will have the surgery long done by the time 10 months rolls around. And by the time we get in to see the fertility specialist in 8 months, we should know whether or not the surgery worked! So the timing should be perfect.

Let the countdown begin!!!

Michelle, thanks for the comments about Canada. We are lucky to have a lot of natural beauty left up here. Hopefully we are smart enough to hold onto it...

Feeling really, really good right now. Full of hope.

Jazzy....excellent news about the urologist appointment!! Wahoo!!

Kalie....74 degrees.....I would LOVE that! I'm so a flip-flop, sundress kind of girl....with a good pedicure of course! I definitely wasn't born in to the right climate up here in New York!

Michelle...thanks...hcg is falling as slow as a damn slug. However, I am getting negative OPKs....so that's a positive sign. Still BDing and seeing what happens from that.

I wouldn't mind a 2014 baby....I know we have 3 months to make a 2013 baby! LOL. I'm happy with whatever....but am trying not to have a winter baby. Winters here really bite....so bday parties and such will be planned with weather in mind. I hate that!

I'm tired....but have to get to the laundry and house chores........UGH! Yes, I'm in a foul mood..........!

Hi ladies! Michelle - thanks for the invite to join you gals! My name is Lisa and I live in Atlanta... we have a "cold front" coming through right now but we're not nearly as cold as some as you ladies are :) We have 4 fur babies... my own personal petting zoo ;) My best friend Ansley (my mini poodle), Claire (standard poodle) and then our 2 Tonkinese cats, Leila and Addy.

In terms of TTC... we started TTC in April. Had a strange issue from my May cycle. Got AF... then 3 days later got AF again... took a test and was +. HCG was 23 and falling. Got pregnant again 2 weeks later. Made it to 10 weeks only to find out at my US that baby was 6w1d without a heartbeat. That moment will forever be in my head. I wasn't able to MC on my own, so at 12 weeks (Aug 21) I had my D&C. I also got testing done and am now on 4MG of Folic Acid every day and am on progesterone after ovulation. I was on progesterone last time, but I think too late... not until week 5 or so and my numbers had already dipped. I also found out I'm a carrier for Factor V Leiden, so I'm on Aspirin now and will be on Heparin/Lovenox shots when I get PG next time. It's been 4 cycles since my D&C (2 TTC, 2 not allowed to TTC) and no luck yet. It's so hard to TTC after a MC. And it's so hard to see everyone progressing, getting pregnant and lapping you.

Our second due date was March 5... I was hoping to be pregnant again before then, but who knows. I've decided this cycle not to have a schedule of when to BD and just take it more at our own pace. We'll see how that works. And I hear ya on the tax deductions ;) I also think... March is the last month to use my entire health insurance deductible on a 2013 pregnancy... after that you start fresh on Jan 1. A gal at works keeps telling me "you need to hurry up and get pregnant to have the whole pregnancy in 2013" ... she got pregnant first try and is now 33 weeks. So, yeah, she doesn't understand that sex does not equal baby like we do.

So, that's my story :) So happy to be joining you here! Good luck everyone with your last minute holiday shopping! I'm happy to be officially off work until 2013... YAY!!!! Talk to you ladies soon!!

Good luck, ladies! , Lisa Me, 31... DH, 32 May 2012 - early MC June 2012, Pregnant... missed MC at 10 weeks (6w1d) D&C August 21 TTC again 2 cycles later, November 2012... waiting for my next BFP! User Image

Hi Lisa!! Welcome! So glad you can join us on here!

Getting consistent negative OPKs finally! And my HPT this morning was so faint, you can hardly tell it's positive! SUCH a good sign!!!

We are "supposed" to get slammed with 12 inches of snow between tonight and tomorrow (most of the time our weatherman is wrong!)....so I'm planning on getting in my fleece pjs, making some hot chocolate and lounging around the house for the next 24 hrs! I'm officially on Christmas recess from work and it couldn't come at a better time. I so enjoy long weekends and breaks when times are chaotic.....like holidays!

I want to get a lot of BDing in this weekend, but hubby is a little under the weather.... Here's to hoping I can change his mind!

Welcome Lisa! I am so sorry for your losses. I hope you get another very soon!

I think a 2013 baby would be nice, because that would mean a baby SOONER! But I will settle for a 2014 baby too. I just want a child of my own... Not too fussy about when! I am really scared that I will never be ale to conceive my own child. I think when you have never had a BFP, it is hard to imagine ever being pregnant. But I am feeling a lot of hope for this surgery. 50/50 odds, but I am really hoping we are one of the lucky ones!

AF is due Sunday or Monday. AF will officially be late on Christmas day. Do I test that day if AF doesn't show? It is a tough call! On one hand, there could be a lot of disappointment if it is BFN. On the other hand, it sure would be cool to get a BFP for Christmas!!!

Melissa, if DH is under the weather, give him a free pass. He can lay back and you do all the work! He won't pass up an offer like that!

Hello Lisa welcome to our group!! I didn't realize I invited but it's certainly all good :) the more the merrier. Sorry I haven't been on in a while. I've been having some personal problems :( I got myself into a lot of trouble with payday loans and they've really caught up with me. I had a huge mental breakdown last night and finally contacted a consolidation company. I feel a lot of relief and i got a really nice bonus at work will help us through the holidays :). I can't tell you how stressful this has been and now finally I have a goal and relief. I was paying over 1100$ a month i payments and now I will just need to pay the consolidation company like 350$ a month. A big difference huh?????? I hope all of ladies are doing well!!!

Kalie I have to stalk your chart but I surely hope you have confirmation of O.

Melissa glad to hear your getting neg opk's and almost neg hpt's.....bet this is the one and only time your looking for a neg opk!!

Lisa, I so admire your strength through your losses :( I truly don't know if I could handle that. It would certainly be my breaking point.

Jazzy girl I'm so excited about you guys getting your appointment!!!! How awesome for you. I bet you'll be seeing BFP in no time at all :) Thanks for starting this thread I really enjoy this and just love you ladies!!!! Hoping for all your BFP's!! :)

Morning girls!!

Michelle...I invited Lisa through private message. I think she got our names mixed up. Lisa and I have been following each other's journey and I thought she would be a wonderful addition to our forum! And she is!

I hear you about debt....we just consolidated our credit cards about a month ago. I had more on my credit cards than my husband did...which I think that's the case for all women! It was a HUGE relief to just pay one bill instead of 6 different ones. Plus, our APR is 5% on our consolidation loan when the cards were 24.99%. Huge relief, huge! I'm so happy to hear you have found some breathing room with your finances. It really takes a lot of stress off your shoulders.

I agree too with thanking Jazzy for starting this thread. I really look forward to chatting and checking in with you ladies every day....and sometimes twice a day! It's such a nice form of support and an outlet to talk about our most intimate issues.

Even though hubby was under the weather last night, that didn't stop him! LOL. Did you see my chart....and the nice drop it's taking?? I like when things change on my chart because it can actually mean something....! What it means I'm not sure....but regardless it sparks some analyzing!

Okay....going to go check all of your charts!

Debt can definitely be a burden! We only have our mortgage, but it's a big one. The house prices are quite high here and we bought ours after the boom, which was a few years ago. I love our house though. It has a ready-made girl's nursery with a professionally done mural on every wall. I really hope that I get to use it as a nursery one of these days! Of course if we have a boy, the fairies and flowers will have to go.

Hoping for a Christmas !

How is everyone doing? We are probably all going to be a little distracted by xmas over the next few days. I am bringing the Ipad to the inlaws' house, so I will still be around!
