The Wannabe Mamas!

I am starting this thread for a group of ladies that already frequently communicate through journals and PMs. Since we already stalk one another's journals and countdown pages... I thought it might be nice for us to have a discussion forum, where we can frequently communicate our day to day ups and downs. Please re-introduce yourself and give us a summary of your journey to date!

My story:
DH and I have been TTC #1 since June 2012. In October, we found out that DH has a varicocele causing poor morphology (1-2%). This makes it difficult for us to conceive on our own. We are on some looong wait lists to see specialists. We need to see a urologist about possible surgery and a fertility specialist about possible IUI or IVF. Right now we are loking at 8-10 month wait times, but we might be able to get DH into a urologist much sooner if we can get into a clinic in the next province over. We are currently working toward making that happen! The surgery has about 50/50 odds of working. But we are hoping it works for us!

Today is O day and although hubby & I were planning on preventing for the next couple cycles (even bought some great condoms lol) & prevented last week when it didn't matter with valentines & everything we've not used the condoms so maybe we'll get a BFP maybe not & at this moment I'm ok with either outcome as BFP time I definetly won't be getting excited until I'm pretty far along

On a happy note We're planning a trip to Disneyland!!! Anybody gone & have advice???

Oh disney land sounds like a nice break...Nothing like mickey mouse and cinderella to help relax you! :) When ttc I always looked forward to the trips and vacations, they were so restful. But I have never been to disney land so I am jealous!!! Maybe you will get a rainbow baby from your trip eh? That would be great!! :)

It's been forever since I've been to disney like 15 years lol but it was so so so much fun!!!! I was still too young to enjoy like pleasure island and animal kingdom was just being built. It was a blast even now as an adult I'd have a blast still!!!!!!!

Thanks girls :) I'm hoping we either make rainbow baby, or get BFP not sure where in cycle I'll be during the trip but praying that AF isn't going to show while I'm there, that would be really irritating.

How is every one doing lately?? I'm doing surprisingly well, feeling inspired & energized with hope that things will be ok

Fun, Disney!! We're going to Disney World in May with the whole family! I know that trip will be fun for you and I hope it does take your mind off of things. Crossing my fingers for you!!! What did you decide to do with your doctor, according? Did you ever find a new doctor that would test you? I would hate to see you go through another loss when it can be prevented :(

I'm just waiting and chilling right now... my first US will be March 6 and I should be 6w4d according to my + OPK. I'm really nervous though. I know my last pregnancy ended in missed miscarriage, but I felt so many more symptoms last time than this time. I'm just really trying to trust in my body and let it do what it's supposed to be doing. It's funny too because earlier this week (Tuesday night) I felt like my body was going to collapse on itself when I was making dinner. I was so tired. Wednesday I felt like a big gas ball. And really since then I've not really felt anything. No bloating, noting. It scares me, but I just have to trust in my body. It's going to be a long time before March 6 and I'm just praying I get to see my first heartbeat!

Hope you ladies have a wonderful weekend!!!

Good luck, ladies! , Lisa Me, 31... DH, 32 May 2012 - early MC June 2012, Pregnant... missed MC at 10 weeks (6w1d) D&C August 21 TTC again 2 cycles later, November 2012... waiting for my next BFP! User Image

According,

Disneyland is my favorite place in the world! You will have a blast! You have to do it right though to avoid the long lines. You need to utilize the fast pass system for all the big rides.

Go early in the morning, then go back to the hotel for the afternoon for a nap. You will avoid the busiest and hottest part of the day that way! Then go back in the evening and stay until close. It is the best way, really!

Do not miss the best shows: Fantasmic, World of Color. And make sure at least once, you watch the fireworks from right in front of the castle. That is my favorite thing to do.

I highly recommend reading "The Unofficial Guide to Disneyland."

AFM,

I agree with some of the others on here that it is awkward when you get PG, because you don't want to make others feel the way you used to feel... I still care and have not forgotten you at all!

As far as I know, baby is fine, but I haven't been to a doctor since I was 5 weeks. I was supposed to go on Thursday for my 12 week appointment, but my great gramma died and her funeral was at the same time. It has been a hard week...

I was able to reschedule, but the new appointment won't be until I am 14 weeks. I wish it could be sooner, because I feel like I need the reassurance.

On a positive note, I officially enter the second trimester on Tuesday (13 weeks).

I am getting fat too... Gained 10 pounds already, which is way more than I should have gained at this point! But I have been eating like a horse to keep the nausea down... And I have had a huge appetite... Eating everything in sight...

Wishing everyone well...

Hi girls, just checking in...

Jazzy...very sorry to hear about your great grandma. Any death in the family is hard to go through, especially if you were close. My gram passed rapidly (told prognosis wasn't good on a Monday, she passed at home surrounded by 20+ family members on a Thursday night) almost 2 years ago, and its just a very hard process. Quick or not. I'm sure you're approaching rescheduled appointment will go very well.

According...Disney sounds great! I have been a lot in my life, just not in the last 15 years. I'm sure things have gotten even better since then. No matter what it will be a great time!

Glad to hear all is going well for everyone on the baby front. Hopefully the first u/s appointments and continued check-ups go well.

DH and I put a huge effort in the last 3 days to TTC. He was very in to it....even knowing I was ovulating. He has ebbs and flows about TTC, so his genuine efforts were a huge turn-on. I'm not putting too much in to this....with my luck. Whatever happens, happens. I am going to try the natural family planning method though until May/June if this month is a bust. I do not want a due date near Xmas....nor during the thick of winter here. I also do not want to go back on birth control.....so if we have to invest in condoms, so be it. I'll research other methods too....I think there is a spermicide? Not sure if hubby wants to wear a condom after 10 years of marriage!

Melissa - I really hope this month works out for you! We hardly BD'd last month compared to prior months and hubbs was much more interested and didn't say no when I said "you know I'm ovulating, right??" I am crossing everything for you!! It amazed me how the month I took little interest in doing the right things for BD'ing and hardly BD'd at all was a keeper... so fingers are crossed for you!! When will you be able to test? I know what you mean about having a Christmas baby or a Thanksgiving baby. If this pregnancy sticks... I'm sort of hoping it doesn't come on Halloween... haha. I love fall and everything, but I would prefer not to have a baby on Halloween.

Hope everyone's doing well!!

Lisa...we definitely tried hard....but....I just don't have that feeling! My boobs aren't sore like they always are....my nips are sore, but....I don't know. I got the EWCM, + opks, thermal shift....but the boobs....they always hurt/ache...and they don't. I'm not holding out on this one. I just wish I would start bleeding and not have to wait 1.5 weeks!

With that said though, I probably will start using what's left of my hpts starting Friday (which will be 6dpo I think). I'm an early tester.....and okay with whatever happens.

Our DS is a November baby....was due in December (he was not planned!), but I had him at 37 weeks (exactly to the day). His bday always falls the week of Thanksgiving, which isn't bad at all. It's the Xmas week I would try to avoid if at all possible. Just our opinion though....I know some don't mind what due date they would have....but for us, DH and I agreed to avoid that time/holiday.

Katie......yay for daily OPK testing! and for going to Mexico!!! Woo-hoo! My DH and I honeymooned there in the Mexican Riviera! We stayed at The Royal in Playa Del Carmen.......LOVED IT! Pool was great, grounds were great, restaurants were great....room was great! Was the most romantic vacation! Where are you staying/going??
